My current tutoring rate is $50/hour. I recently graduated from the University of California, Irvine, and I received my Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences. I am currently taking a year off from school before I head back to school to receive my Master's degree in Education. I have private and group-tutored all ages from 4th and 6th graders, high school seniors, to college students. I myself was a struggling student in the past, and I know exactly what it feels like to fail and what it takes to succeed, which is why I find immense satisfaction in tutoring and helping other students. Despite majoring in Biological Sciences, Mathematics is my favorite subject to tutor because there are usually so many correct ways to approach each problem, and once a student truly grasps a concept in their math studies, it tends to stay with them for a long time. I will be tutoring various levels of math from Elementary Math and Arithmetic to Pre-Algebra, Algebra, and Geometry. I have taken my fair share of standardized testing in the past and done well, and I also tutor ACT, CAHSEE, and SAT Mathematics. Other standardized tests I look forward to tutoring for include the HSPT, ISEE, and SSAT. In terms of my tutoring style, I consider myself a personable tutor, as I take an interest into the lives of my students and try to really understand their thought processes when approaching various problems. Often I let my students teach me what they have learned to gage their understanding, but if they don't understand a particular topic or problem, I like to solve the problem from various angels and approaches until I find a way that is clearly understood by my student. Outside of academia, I absolutely love music. I play piano, guitar, but my main passion is singing. I also have a passion for Pokemon, photography, nature, and astronomy. Friends and acquaintances of mine often describe me as approachable and sociable, and I'm always open to meeting new people!
