I attended the University of California at Santa Cruz from 2004-2008. There I studied creative writing and global literature and ran a creative writing workshop. From 2009-2013, I attended San Francisco State University; here, I received an MFA in Creative Writing and a certification in teaching English Composition. A student of mine at SF State, Kristyna, asked me to be the advisor of the undergraduate writing club, "Word Play"; it was a blast!
Experience
Tutoring is my passion! I believe everyone has the capacity to succeed; by listening to students, I construct creative and effective lessons to help the unique individual. I have been tutoring for the last ten years and have worked with a great diversity of people. I have tutored youths with Bridge the Gap, NIA, and Foothills Tutoring Corp. Additionally, I have tutored and taught college students at SF State, Borough of Manhattan Community College in NYC, AMDA in Hollywood, and Oxnard College in Ventura County. I publish writing regularly, including poetry, prose, memoir, sound poetry, and illustrated poems.
