Experience

Most of my experience has been as a homework helper for the elementary aged students that I've volunteered with and babysat. I love working with children/students of all ages and look forward to expanding my tutoring experience for three reasons: 1) I'm eager to learn more about the subjects I feel I'm best suited to teach while simultaneously dusting off my memory to recover all that I mastered while I was in school; 2) I'm flexible with my teaching approach and can adjust how I engage with and assist each student, according to their personal strengths and weaknesses, when tutoring them in specific subjects; and 3) I'm dedicated to ensuring that the learning/tutoring experience provides gradual and/or immediate positive results all while being fun and building the confidence of the students. I studied Spanish for two years in high school and in college, I took Honors English while in college, and I received the Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship, which is granted to promising students who have an interest in pursing graduate studies. During my third year of graduate school I wrote a one woman show that was produced in NYC in the summers of 2013 and 2014.

Hobbies

I'm a professional actress, but if I had more time, I'd write more. I'm writing a small collection of short stories that I hope to complete by the end of December. I enjoy reading, singing, light yoga, walking/running, listening to music, learning to play the violin, cooking, baking cookies, exploring museums, sewing, watching movies. And sometimes I find myself looking up and around, marveling at all that is NYC as if I don't live here, as if it's all new to me. Sometimes when I'm not doing that, I'm a short term, evening, and weekend babysitter.
