Experience
My goal as a tutor is for students to walk away with skills that they can use for the rest of their lives. I work with students to help them break challenging projects and assignments down into manageable pieces, as well as teach strategies that make students better writers, learners, and thinkers. This approach builds confidence, which I have found to be a key element of academic success. - 4 years tutoring experience at K-12 and college level - Writing tutor for UCSB's Campus Learning Assistance Services and Academic Communities for Excellence Program; teaching evaluations available upon request - Experience with ESL students and students with learning disabilities - Internship writing social studies curriculum, authored Senior Honors Thesis on the Common Core State Standards; excellent understanding of K-12 state standards
